Every movie or TV-show have a location scout to find the right places for the production company. Sometimes it could be a perfect place for a small scene that’s only going on for a few seconds, sometimes they can shoot almost a whole movie around the same location.

There is always a great struggle to find the perfect location for a movie. Often there’s more than one location scout involved in a movie because every scout has it’s own area of expertise.

When they finally find a good location it’s down to politics and the need to get approval. Not only from landowner or governments. The film maker needs to approve as well.

Experience and creativity is very essential for a good location scout. The more experience you get, the easier it is to find a location and judge if it’s appropriate for a big camera crew and film production to populate.
